Jobless claims decline

If unemployment figures have an impact on housing markets, real estate agents may want to pay attention to the latest jobless claims reports. The U.S. Department of Labor reported claims for unemployment insurance benefits last week were still close a 26-year low set the previous week. The DOL reported 266,000 first-time claims for benefits at the state level for the week ending Jan. 22.
